Which one is right for you?

Choose custom live edge or epoxy if you want the table to be the centerpiece of the room: a slab with the tree’s natural edge, a bold epoxy river in your color, a round or extra-long top, or a bar or island that has to fit an exact space. You set every dimension and option, and you’ll get a piece no one else has.

Choose a glue-up dining table if you want solid hardwood that’s built to last for less. Glue-ups use straight boards instead of a single wide slab, so they are more consistent in color and grain, cost about 20% less, and suit modern and farmhouse rooms alike. They are also the best canvas for laser engraving, because the even surface shows a family name or verse crisply.

Questions about building a table online

How much does a custom wood table cost?

Our glue-up dining tables start at $1,860 for a 72″ x 30″ poplar top, and custom live edge dining tables start at $2,700 for a 72″ x 36″ cherry slab top. Walnut, epoxy rivers, larger sizes and bases add to that; both builders show every line item before you share any contact details.

What is the difference between a live edge table and a glue-up table?

A live edge table is cut from a wide slab and keeps the natural outer edge of the tree, so every top is unique. A glue-up table is made from straight hardwood boards joined edge to edge. It has squared edges, more even grain and color, and costs about 20% less for the same size.

Is a glue-up table solid wood?

Yes. Our glue-up tops are 2″ thick solid maple, poplar or walnut boards, glued and flattened into one top. Glued joints are stronger than the wood around them, which is why most solid hardwood furniture is built this way.

Can I get an epoxy river on a glue-up table?

Epoxy rivers are poured between two live edges, so they are part of the custom builder. A glue-up table can be personalized with laser engraving and rounded corners instead.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Pickup at our Windsor Mill, MD shop is free and local delivery within 30 minutes of 21244 is a flat $350. For anywhere else, ask us for a freight quote.
